As we step into 2025, the digital signage industry continues to evolve rapidly. Businesses implementing digital signage strategies are seeing significant benefits, including increased customer engagement, improved internal communication, and enhanced brand visibility. With that in mind, we were incredibly busy in 2024 working to improve the Skykit Digital Signage Platform for our customers, and innovate for the future. While a lot of work was done “behind the scenes” to set us up for success in 2025, here’s our own Skykit Wrapped to recap our year.

Improved User Experience

Playlists Enhancements

We’ve streamlined the Playlist workflow, allowing users to update or edit multiple playlist entries at once. This improvement, coupled with an optimized saving process, significantly accelerates your content management tasks.

For Skykit customers this means less time spent on administrative tasks—and more time focusing on creating impactful digital content that drives engagement and results.

Essential Device Management

Content managers and creators can now remotely restart, troubleshoot, and update settings for displays directly from Skykit’s Content Management System. This feature is particularly valuable for businesses with multiple locations or large-scale deployments, as it reduces the need for on-site IT support, minimizes downtime, and ensures consistent content delivery across all screens.

 

Upgraded Content + Reporting

New Financial Feeds

Our transition to a new financial feed provider offers more reliable, stable, and customizable stock and market feeds. This update not only improves current offerings, but also lays the groundwork for future expansions into commodities and cryptocurrency feeds.

For businesses in the financial sector—or those needing to display regularly refreshed market data—this upgrade ensures accurate and timely information delivery to your audience.

On-Demand Proof of Play (In Beta)

The ability to run basic proof of play reports directly in Skykit’s CMS allows users to verify where and when content has played over short time periods. This feature is invaluable for businesses that need to provide accountability to content stakeholders or ad partners, offering clarity and peace of mind.

It’s particularly useful for retail environments, where proving ad playtime is crucial for partner relationships.

Recognizing the challenges of unreliable Wi-Fi and costly ethernet installations, we introduced a cost-effective cellular connectivity data plan. This Skykit IoT solution works seamlessly with our cellular-enabled media players, ensuring stable content delivery and network management even in challenging environments.

For businesses operating in remote locations or large facilities, this feature guarantees uninterrupted communication with your audience, as well as greater stability in managing your network of media players.

Skykit E400 Media Player

Alongside our new Skykit IoT Data Plan, the E400 cellular-capable media player is designed for scenarios requiring multiple screens, advanced content playback, or interactive kiosk solutions. This versatile player opens up new possibilities for businesses looking to create immersive digital experiences or deploy complex signage networks.

Performance Improvements

While we made continuous performance improvements to our platform in 2024, we’ve made notable enhancements to the stability and user experience of Skykit’s Content Management System. These improvements translate to faster load times, smoother navigation, and a more intuitive interface for all users, regardless of their technical expertise.

We will continue to make performance improvements across our platform in 2025, as our goal is the best experience possible for our customers.

Dashboard Connections

As the leader in sharing real-time data in the digital signage space, we continue to make large strides in advancing our Skykit Dashboard Connections solution. We’ve already laid the foundation for some significant stability and efficiency improvements that will be rolling out this year.

Additionally, we’ve added a number of connections to our already large list. These new data sources make it even easier for businesses to integrate their existing data visualization tools with Skykit—enabling real-time data display and enhancing decision-making processes. We provide various methods to authenticate with your data tools to align with your company’s authentication standards and security policies.
