This week’s Skykit Employee Spotlight features our new Head of Sales Engineering, Juan Reyes. Juan shares his thoughts on the future of digital signage and what he’s looking forward to in 2022.

As the Head of Sales Engineering, Juan Reyes’ job is to help bring a Skykit solution to life. Juan brings an understanding of how the right solution can improve business performance and add value to an organization.
What excites you most about the future of digital signage?
I am really excited about the future of third-party integration, analytics, and metrics. We live in a society where we’re always looking for ways to simplify and automate our lives (Alexa pretty much runs mine). Our clients and the markets we serve are no different. Finding innovative ways to allow customers to use real-time data and present the information broadly from other business tools really excites me.
You have a lot of experience in the digital signage industry, what do you think is the most meaningful advancement in recent years?
Throughout my time in the industry, I have seen a lot of trends and changes. I think the use of AI (artificial intelligence), both analytics and metrics, to create smart content has been the most meaningful advancement. Using AI to recognize who is in front of the screen and to serve content specifically tailored to them is an amazing advancement that’s still in its infancy and has endless possibilities.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Skykit?
Two things. First off, I really appreciate connecting with our clients. I’m secretly an introvert, so one thing I’ve enjoyed over the years is being able to connect with people on solutions and technology I’m very passionate about.
Second, I enjoy the moment when a client gets to see the finished project. Some projects can take months to fully develop from the initial concepting stage to the installation. It’s rewarding to be a part of the experience and see customers happy with their signage solution.
You recently joined the Skykit team, what has been your favorite part about joining the group?
The team and the culture (I know – that’s technically two). Everyone has been so helpful and willing to go above and beyond to help me understand our clients and products, and even show me where the snack drawer is located. I have felt very welcomed and already feel like part of the family!
What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
After 20 plus years in my previous position…this year gives me an opportunity to develop new skill sets, build on my knowledge of the impressive Skykit software and hardware suite and help grow business in our key markets.
I’m new to the Twin Cities area, so I’m also looking forward to exploring Minneapolis and checking out all the great restaurants in the area.
Favorite book/podcast or TV show you’ve read/listened to/watched during the last 2 years?
I love Marvel and DC movies and shows. I’m fortunate that my daughter enjoys them too, so we’re always watching the latest series on Disney+ or going to the movie theater to see what’s new.
